Woohoo!!!  Leaving for L.A. in about a week.  A much needed vacation before I start pursuing my Masters in about a month.  And that's my update for now

So my mother decided to do some Spring cleaning today and placed 3 boxes in my room to go through.  It's amazing how memories come flooding back to you.  :sigh:  How I wanted to be the yellow ranger when I grew up , but I guess that dream is now out the window.

Does anyone remember Pogs?  I still have 2 full stacks of them and I have no idea what to do with them.  Man was it popular.  Now-a-days all we do is play video games...

So some how the topic of houses was brought into conversation this weekend.  I've always talked about moving out of my house when I figure out the cost of grad. school and everything else, and with the market the way it is now, it is a great time to buy a house.  Can I afford it?  Probably.  But am I ready for one?  Not really.  Sure it'll be nice to own a house at my age so then I don't have to worry about getting one when the market is better and when I'm older, with a family, etc.  But truth be told, I don't think I have the energy for a house.  Plus, it's not only the mortgage you have to worry about, but you also have to buy the furniture for decorations.  And it's only me right now.  I don't need a big house just for myself.  So all-in-all I'll be content with moving out into an apartment when the time is right.

On another note, I caved in and bought these...

I miss the good old college days.  Ok, I know...everyone's like - you miss the hw, you miss the exams, etc?  Uhh..no, I don't miss those.  But I miss how easy it was to see everyone.  You just call someone up and the next thing you know you're walking like 5 blocks away to hang-out.  Now-a-days it takes a lot of effort to hangout with people on the weekdays.  You get home from work and you're tired.  Everyone is not 5 blocks away but more like 5+ miles away.  And then you gotta be home by a certain time so you're able to function the next day at work.  Being a working adult is not any easier.  What they say is true, you have more responsibilites.  Ok, so I should say being a responsible working adult is not easy.

This weekend is supposed to be gorgeous weather.  I wanna do something outdoors, gotta get out of the house.  But what is there to do????

So the weekend is gone, the snow is here and another work weeks begins.  So on Friday, the bf and I went to see He's Just Not That Into You.  I've read the book and thought it was ok.  The movie was cute and funny and a def. chick flick.  I felt that it tried to be another version of "Sex in the City," but def. no way close to it.  But everything they say is true, it's just more blunt and to your face in this movie.

Saturday - didn't do much.  I was going to head to the gym, but ended up cleaning up the bf's room while he was out to work.  How domestic of me

Sunday - woke up way early and the only reason I would do it on a weekend is for snowboarding.  So off we went to Camelback.  I've been trying to get my turns down, but I still haven't been able to do it.  I think I'm kinda getting it, but I keep catching an edge and I don't know how to correct it yet.  Plus the fake snow and the ice didn't make conditions ideal.

And it brings us to today.  Why couldn't this snow have come on Saturday.  The mountains would have been great today.  But in any case, work opened late, but by the time it was time to leave my road had yet to be reshoveled.  So I called in and stayed home.  Even though I didn't have to worry about work, shoveling was work enough.  Here's hoping that tomorrow will be ok.

And here's hoping that this weekend will be good snowboarding weather weekend.  We're hoping to head to Mountain Creek this time.  With all these sales I'm thinking it's time to get a new jacket (and possible pants), gloves and goggles.  And quite possibly even new boots.  My one boot keeps pushing against my toe and my ankle, but my other boot is perfectly fine.
